Govt allows humanitarian aid to Kachin State

Officials from the Myanmar government's Central Peace Making Group have agreed to make arrangements to reconstruct houses, reopen schools and hospitals, and allow humanitarian aid to be delivered to internally displaced persons, according to the state-run New Light of Myanmar.
The announcement comes following a preliminary meeting to peace talks between a government delegation and the Kachin Independence Organization in southern China earlier this week.

The Kachin’s last stand
Since October this year, Burma has been in a state of civil war, with fighting between Burmese military and armed ethnic rebels. The ruling junta started a crackdown on these armed groups.
