Two bombs hit Shan State bridge

(Mizzima) – A bridge at the entrance gate to Theinni in Shan State was bombed on Wednesday, according to Xinhua news agency quoting local sources. There was no information about who planted the bombs or a possible reason.

Two bomb blasts hit the bridge about 4 a.m., causing minor damage to a concrete pillar underneath the bridge. Two unexploded bombs were also found.

Theinni is one of the five townships in constituency 3 in Shan state in which five political parties are contesting for a seat in the Upper House of Parliament in the Sunday by-election.
