One person killed in taxi explosion in Rangoon


Rangoon (Mizzima) – One person was killed and two people were injured in an explosion following a gas leak involving a taxi in Nagmoeyeik Ward, Thingangyun Township, in Rangoon on Tuesday.  

The explosion involved a white taxi carrying two passengers in front of the Directorate of Road Transport on 9thRoad.  

The driver, identified as Khin Maung Thin, 40, died, a police official from Thingangyun Police Station told Mizzima.  

Two passengers, Soe Oo (52) and Ni Ni Lwin (38), were injured.  

According to police, the front of the vehicle was damaged.
